Outside!

Casey wanted to go outside from the minute we got in the car.  So, after a quick diaper change & a change into jeans, outside he went.  He screamed with excitement, chatted with the neighbors, scared some birds, waved to & barked at some dogs, and enjoyed playing ball.   Then he banged on the garage door insisting we go in for dinner.

He started saying lotion and hi five within the last couple of days & he puts together 2 or 3 words at a time.

Bitten, again

I hear this was deserved.

UPDATE: Apparently Casey tackled the playground bully because he wanted the ball. Casey had him pinned down, and his only defense was to bite him.

Sick again. This time we have a double ear infection & bronchitis. Dr. Sue thought it might have been pneumonia & because it was Friday wanted to be on the safe side...so Casey & his dad made an exciting trip to the hospital for bloodwork & chest x-rays. We told him to lay off the booze, but he just doesn't want to listen.

These are some photos from the week Caroline visited.

Here's the allergic reaction he had...and it was 1000X worse on his stomach. It totally freaked me out.

Casey hugged Caroline about a zillion times. (Note: She didn't develop a rash or catch any ailment from the boy).

The first 2 are from dinner & later yesterday. My boy still loves mangoes. He didn't even try to paint with them this time, he just scarfed them down after he ate the rest of his meal.
He walked around all evening with his hand(s) in his pockets. And he can say pocket.

The Wardells gave us some Halloween costumes the didn't use last year. I wanted to see if they'll fit when Halloween rolls around. Not sure about this one, but Casey laughed the whole time he had it on & kept saying Cookie.

It's beautiful out today, so I decided to take Casey to a little park/beach near our house prior to heading home. The weather was fabulous, but Casey had no interest in trying out the swings (he screamed like I was injuring him) and did not want to get down to go on the slides or walk around. Instead, he clung to me saying"birdie" and "doggie, woof woof". He finally got down as we were walking to the car. Then he turned, waved & said "byebye birdies". I have to go read books or he may try to stage a coup d'etat.

This spider was on our screen door this morning. It was v. large, had a really cool web, and as of Monday was living on our fence. Now if I could train it to eat all the mosquitos...
I figured if I took a picture of a spider, I might as well take some of Casey.

Bitten

Sent via BlackBerry by AT&T

When my phone rang at about 9:20 I thought it was going to be a work related headache. Upon hearing Casey's teacher on the other end of the phone, I immediately thought I was going to hear news of vomiting or injury requiring an ambulance ride. Instead, she informed me that he had been bitten. He was ok--no broken skin, back to playing after they iced it--but the policy is to alert the parents (and I don't think they wanted me to freak out when I went to get him & saw chopper marks on his poor little cheek). He was fine when I went to pick him up, save for the bite shaped bruise on his cheek. His little girlfriend bit him when he wouldn't give her the toy he was playing with. He went back to playing with the little girl after she was done with her time out & he was released from being iced.

I did receive a lovely pamphlet on the biting policy from the CDC, which I suppose could be considered a "we let someone try to eat your child...sorry" gift. Casey called it a book & unfolded & folded it the whole ride home, saying book every 20 seconds.

Labor Day Weekend

Leigh & Mike came over to visit Friday night. They played with Casey, who was not interested in going to bed because he was enjoying his visitors. Sadly, they're planning to move in the relatively near future and we have threatened to visit when they do.
For the remainder of the weekend, we had a lovely time hanging out by the pool. It made we want to get a landscape architect to design a lovely yard for me us. I need to find the guy who is responsible for this house...
