By the time we got everything cleaned up, it was time for him to eat, after which he proceeded to soak his new outfit and car seat (again), this time from his mouth. An hour later, we were back on the road.

A bit later then we had hoped, we left for our vacation this morning. We made excellent time on the road, but made three unscheduled stops for diaper changes and feedings. After only one hour, Casey managed to poop himself and his car seat. I did an excellent job of packing everything we needed into the car, but I didn't leave any room for changing diapers, so I had to improvise.

Casey had a busy day. The Webster Ladies, Susie and Mary, were kind enough to have us for lunch. Casey thoroughly enjoyed his time with them, smiling and cooing like a champ. In the 6 miles it took to get from our driveway to their house, Casey somehow soaked his outfit and his bucket. No idea how he did it, but he was very wet and in need of a new uniform by the time we arrived. After dinner Leigh and her mom, Barb, came to pay us a visit. Grandma (Z.) & Aunt Cristen came over for a little bit while our post-dinner visitors were here. We sat outside until the mosquitos started eating me alive.

We had a busy morning doing things around the house. Matt mowed the lawn, then I did some gardening while Matt & Casey took a trip to their favorite store. When they returned we hung out by the pool for a while and Casey, as always, enjoyed his time outside. The Grandparents Rubin and Aunt Jessica came to pay Casey a visit around dinnertime. Aunt Cristen brought Shana to meet Casey. Somehow, we neglected to take any pictures, so we'll have to get a photo of Shana when she visits again. Casey was tuckered out at the end of the night.
Favorites
Here are Casey's favorite toys of late. On the left we have Tucker the Turtle (he rattles, squeaks and has a mirror on his belly), courtesy of Andrea and Dan. In the middle is the light up, song playing duck from Heidi and Vip. And finally on the right we have the travel mobile which was a gift from Becca. Thanks to you all for providing hours of entertainment and cooing for our little man.

Casey was chatty and smiley all day, which I found quite entertaining. He enjoyed tummy time, our daily walk, and his bath. He has not enjoyed going to sleep at all today, which I have not found at all entertaining.
Here he was mid discussion.
This was post costume change, which was necessitated after spitting up all over his first outfit of the day.

Today we went to do some shopping and later took a stroll around the neighborhood. We met a strange little girl who informed me that she has a 9 or 10 month old little brother at home. She seemed to want to come with us on the remainder of our walk, but I politely declined as I don't need to end up in jail and I don't need said strange little girl following me around.

Happy Father's Day
We had a Father's Day BBQ with the Rubin/Coyne family today. We failed to get pictures of him last week, so there is extra Brady today.
After the big kids battled it out on the Wii, the little kids went old school.

Having good cut men, the boys fared well during their bout. Always the good sportsman, Casey shared his pack 'n play with Brady for a nap. While neither boy is all smiles here, it is one of the few pictures where Brady didn't block Casey's face with his forearm.

After everybody left, we took the first dip of the season in our pool. Since it was early in the evening and the sun was no longer a factor, the water had cooled off quite a bit. Casey enjoyed himself, even getting in the water, but wasn't happy when the water rose above his knees.

To round out the day, Casey got a bath in preparation for his evening meal and bedtime. Hopefully, he will enjoy bath time in the tub as much as he does the kitchen sink.

Casey's rabbit is no longer. He did an AJ Soprano, but was successful.

Casey has been ridiculously cranky all day. I can't really blame him, as we let someone stab him in the leg this morning and all. Apparently Aunt Jessica was so jealous Casey got to visit the doctor today she decided to contract an illness that would require a trip to the doctor. We wish her a speedy recovery.

I'm starting to think Casey might have some Dr. Doolittle powers or something. Since I had him we've found the following living in our yard: Casey's pet bunny, at least one snake, chipmunks (some of which appear to have committed suicide in our pool), and now a ground hog. At least that's what I believe I saw when I returned home this afternoon and found it eating our coreopsis.

Casey met his 9 week newer cousin Brady, Aunt Jen, and Uncle Danny today. After a brief rendezvous at the mall, we went back to my parents house for a BBQ. Other than the constantly yipping dog, we all had a lovely time.

Casey came into our room this morning around 3 AM by way of shrieking shrills to tell us that he had soaked through his diaper and pajamas. After a new diaper, pajamas, and sheets, he quickly went back to sleep. The same episode re-aired about two hours later, tipping us off that larger diapers may be in order...or a catheter. Casey was not so willing to go back to sleep this time, which meant Matt was not late for work. Here he is pictured void of piss (and vinegar).
Grandma watched him while I went to the dentist, her years of wisdom keeping her dry. In case anyone is interested, the dentist said I have very nice teeth and no cavities. The ladies at the office think Casey is "too cute for words".
Another clue that larger diapers are in order came with a warm sensation in my lap. No, I did not wet my pants, however Casey soaked through his diaper all over me. In retaliation for the early wake up call and extra laundry, I put him in the little outfit he wore home from the hospital 7 weeks ago to see how it fit...and it's way too small.

Sadly (today, at least), Casey enjoyed tummy time before he passed out.

After dinner, Matt took Casey to Costco for more appropriately sized diapers. Even though there were no samples to be enjoyed, Casey still seemed to enjoy himself and was well behaved.

Casey was all set to go in the pool today, but it was overcast and raining. Since he is already weatherproof, I suppose we can still take our afternoon walk.

Much to Carrie's delight, he is finally seeming to enjoy Tummy Time. Even though he can hold his head up on his own, he hasn't quite figured out to push himself up from his tummy, which is probably why he isn't so fond of laying on his stomach. He does, however, do a good job of writhing around and rubbing his head all over. Maybe he is itchy.

To round out the day, we gave Casey a bath. He never seems to mind the water, and was even a good sport when we took our afternoon walk in the rain. I was splashing him with the water as I rinsed, eliciting the reaction you can (hopefully) see below.
