Casey is super excited that we're going to get "big snow" today. He's trying to stand on everything-chairs, the back of the couch-so he can see the snow on the ground. He was thrilled with The loot Santa brought him yesterday & got both the firetruck & mustang he asked Santa for. He's currently eating a turkey sandwich & singing what he calls the Lightning McQueen song with the wrong lyrics...laughin on the highway, I wanna ride it all night long.

Christmas tired someone out

We had a conference for Casey at school yesterday. He's a genius. Ok, his teacher didn't call him a GENIUS, but he can cut on lines, trace, sit still, follow directions, count to 12, recognize shapes & colors. And he can do all sorts of other things I can't recall right now.

Claire got another tooth on Saturday.

It snowed this afternoon, so it took us (me & the kids) an hour & 1/2 to get home. Both were remarkably happy trapped in the car going 5 MPH or less for the last few miles on the parkway. We all bundled up and went for a walk outside, where Casey informed me it looked like sparkly things were falling from the sky & were all over the ground. After he made some snow angels, he came inside & had hot chocolate to get warm (except he wouldn't drink it until it was cold).

And we have

a tooth! I found Claire's first tooth yesterday morning. I'm hoping this is the cause of her restless slumber. She's also started waving, which is super cute.

Wilsons ice cream

We went to Florida to see Matt's family. We left Thursday evening and the kids were great on the plane. Claire enjoyed the king sized bed in our hotel. Casey had a fabulous time playing with his cousins. Sunday we got to pay a visit to the Coyne pediatrician for Claire's double ear infection. We enjoyed the lovely 70ish weather, and then came home Monday to the cold and some snow flurries.

Casey went to the Wonder Wing with school today. His class had a fabulous time. When Matt asked him this evening how his field trip went he said..."We saw fish. We saw a pirate ship. Derica got scared. And I saw your quarters in the fish mud." After some further discussion with him we came to realize that he was looking through the floor of the ship at an underwater scene...with fish, sea life and coins...hence the quarters in fish mud.

Casey fell & scraped his elbow. Apparently he can't unbend his elbow now.

After an enjoyable trip to Ikea with my mom & my sister in law Jessica, some dope drove into us. Luckily we're all ok, just a little sore. Sadly, many of our Ikea purchases were ruined by the crash.

Well, apparently Claire is ready to go...she started crawling last night. She's been up on her hands & knees rocking back & forth for a couple weeks. She was even inching forward, but now...she crawls. I guess we should start babyproofing again!

This is only a moment, not the rest of your life. Enjoy all of it, even the stressful things, because you'll never have this time with them again.

Claire started daycare last Monday & was coughing & sick when she woke up Friday morning. Now that she's better, it seems she's gotten Casey sick. He started coughing yesterday & they both got to see Dr. Sue earlier today. Perhaps I should go buy some lottery tickets because both kids fell asleep at the same time.

Claire now rolls around like its her job.

Casey has drinks, shiny Lightning McQueen, Mack, red Mustang, and blue Mustang somewhere in the Sponge Bob couch.

Claire survived her first day at prison

Claire seems to find the beach relaxing...we got here & she fell asleep. Casey is busy frolicking at the edge of the ocean, digging, & looking for treasures. I would post pics but matt has hisphone in some strange case and I can't get it out.

Claire went for her 4 month checkup today. She's doing fabulously & is already over 16 lbs. She's trying to sit up on her own already & has been getting into the "I'm ready to crawl but will just rock back & forth" position for a couple weeks already. She can't crawl yet, but she somehow manages to inch forward & can scoot across a room pretty quickly. She's grabbing at everything & anything, including food, and she's particularly fond of ripping the glasses off my face.

Casey & Matt got haircuts today. Then we hung out with Brady & family at the boardwalk. Casey said his favorite part of today was his hot dog at Costco...and riding the train with Brady.
