Teething cookies taste just like animal crackers.

Since learning to crawl, we can't put Casey down and turn our backs for more then a second. We've found a way to contain and entertain him...

This is not frustration...

Casey's friend Jacob and his mom came over to visit this morning. We knew her a few years ago when she was in Brownies with Aunt Cristen (& Grandma was the troop leader). Now, in an odd twist of fate, she works with Daddy. We were bad parents and forgot to take pictures of the first play date, if we can even really call it that. The boys seemed to like each other best when they were at least a foot away from each other.

Casey and I went for his 6 month checkup this morning. He weighs 17 1/2 lbs and is 26 inches long. He's sitting, crawling, pulling to a stand and has 2 teeth. We got a DPT shot, a prescription for vitamins and don't have to return for another checkup until he's 9 months old.
The staff was all dressed up for Halloween--including the Dr who was wearing
enormous sparkly wings--but they didn't want to pose for a photo.
Casey was dressed as a duck yesterday--we do Halloween a day early here. Stupid, yes, but
that's how it is. He's currently lunging at the computer and screaming because I'm not letting him get to it, so I will have to post pictures later.

Casey's mattress needs to be lowered again...

Sitting seems to be his second favorite thing to do.

New pictures posted, FYI

I think Casey might be getting more teeth, as he has decided sleeping through the night is a thing of the past. We are not enjoying this new development. He's still crawling around and pulling up on everything.

In other news, Aunt Cristen turned 27 today. To celebrate, she had a costume party.
Casey was a duck.
Jody (Cristen's friend from GA) was a medieval lady...holding a duck.
Jason was a leprechaun.

Cristen was a judge

Papa was a bowler

Matt was a Phish fan (here he's minus the hat)

Cristen, Jody, Roberta, Grandma, Matt and I played Chubby Bunny...

Aunt Berta won.

Casey will probably shun sleep again tonight.

It's been a big week for Casey. We have another tooth today. The bottom left was first, now we have the bottom right. This could explain the cold-like symptoms he's had all week. For the past couple of weeks, Casey has been up on all fours and rocking back and forth. He's been belly crawling for a while now, but there was definite crawling this weekend, albeit for only two or three steps at a time.

Not the best picture, but it was important to note where Casey was - he chowed down on authentic Philly Cheesesteaks with his new teeth.

Uncle Scotty came to spend a few days and meet Casey yesterday. They have taken well to each other, and Scott immediately pitched in, helping to put Casey back to sleep in the wee hours.

Casey's first tooth has broken through. It's only a matter of time before his first steak.

Nicole lured me to see her new condo last night with the promise of food, adult company, and of course wine. Her condo is decorated adorably and I'm considering hiring her and her mom to decorate our still undecorated abode. While I was away, Casey developed a little cold. Matt became a champion suction bulb user during that time and I have since had the pleasure of trying my hand at it. I, of course, blame Matt for Casey's illness because I would have somehow prevented it from happening had I been home. :)

Caroline visited from Friday until today. Casey enjoyed her visit. Caroline enjoyed helping to feed and change Casey. She also enjoyed instructing him not to pull hair.

Casey went to the doctor for his 5 month checkup today. He put on a pound and grew 1/2". When discussing his new diet with the doctor, she doubted his ability to sit up, and was shocked when Casey did so on the exam table. When he got home, he belly crawled over to the couch and stood up. The race is on.

Despite the green smiley face above, Casey does not like green beans.
